Best and worst of China
Former Chinese champion runner Wang Junxia, believes the world should see the best and worst of China at the Olympics. She believes the country is going to get caught up in medal mania.
“I really don’t care so much about the medals or the league tables,” Wang said.
“Really, I hope the rest of the world gets to see China and its people for themselves, not just the good points but the bad points too. Then we can learn to correct them.”
Last Olympics China came second to the US winning 32 gold medals to the United States 36 gold medals.
With the games being held on China’s home turf, it is not surprising that the Chinese government and the general population are going to be pushing athletes to show the world who is number one.
