I just checked into the Bell Tower Youth Hostel in Xian. They have dormitories for around 45-55RMB. I am staying a private room with bathroom for just 180RMB a night. The hostel looks across onto the Bell Tower.

Compared with some of the hotels and hostels I have been staying at the last week, the room and bathroom are really nice. They also have lounge area on the second floor with free wifi and restaurant serving western food.

The staff speak great English and were very friendly when I checked in.
