Australian kayaker Chantal Meek won the K1 500 meters at the Oceania championships securing a place in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

She received a warning after two false starts.

“It is a relief, especially after the false starts we had,” Meek said.

“My finishes have been strong all week and I knew I had to keep my line and squeeze it all the way to the end.”
