Asafa Powell pulls out with groin problem
Asafa Powell has pulled out of the Golden Gala being held in Rome, with a groin problem.
He has qualified for the men’s 100 meters at the Beijing Olympics but pulled out from further races.
“He’s OK, but he felt his groin cramp up and stopped running as a precaution,” said Paul Doyle, Powell’s manager.
The men’s 100 meters is building up to be one of the highlights of the Beijing Olympics, between Asafa Powell, Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay.
