Apple to open store in Beijing this weekend
Apple are set to open their first store this weekend in Beijing. The store will be located in the new Sanlitun Village. Apple were originally planning to open a store south of Tiananmen Square but it seems like it couldn’t be completed by the start of the Beijing Olympics.
Sanlitun has long been a popular area for foreigners and internationally minded Chinese, with lots of bars and embassies in the area.
You might wonder what Apple has to do with the Olympics, but it seems like most athletes like to warm-up for their event while listening to their Ipod. In the same shopping center Nike and Adidas have already opened retail outlets.
