Air NZ to fly directly to Beijing

Every possible business is looking to stake their claim and try to benefit from the increase in tourism and exposure the Beijing Olympics will bring. Air New Zealand announced they will be offering a twice weekly service direct from Auckland to Beijing.

Not only will there be expected demand with New Zealanders visiting China for the Olympics, the number of Chinese tourists visiting New Zealand is on the increase.

“Chinese visitor numbers to New Zealand continue to boom, increasing approximately 14 per cent year-on-year, and its rapidly developing economy offers significant potential for both Air New Zealand and the broader New Zealand tourism industry,” said Air New Zealand chief executive Rob Fyfe.
