Men’s Brazil volleyball team earns first berth in Beijing Olympics
World champions Brazil defeated Russia in the men’s world cup currently being held in Japan.
Russia won a bronze medal in Athens 2004 Olympic Games. The final score was: 25-22, 25-22, 25-18.
Russia, the United States and Bulgaria are competing for the final two places available to go through to the Olympics.
“Even if we lose tomorrow, we’ve already qualified, because one of the two teams (either Russia or the United States) will get three defeats,” said Brazilian coach Bernardo Resende.
