Richard Chambers wins gold in Munich rowing championships
Richard Chambers won gold in the lightweight four in the rowing championships in Munich.
“The Beijing Olympics are the next big target and we have a lot of training ahead of us over the next 12 months but there are exciting times ahead” said James Clarke who was on the same team.
The Munich championships are one of the most important qualifying events for rowing. Potential athletes will still have one more chance to qualify in June next year in Beijing.

Aussie women struggle in gymnastics
Australia has never done to well in the gymnastics and they are currently struggling in the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany.
“I’m not making excuses. It’s a young team. They did the preparation, but they succumbed to nerves. That’s something that you can’t simulate,” said shocked coach Peggy Liddick.
“If I had the answers then it wouldn’t have happened. I need to go back to the drawing board.
“They didn’t do a bad job on the floor. I just hope it’s enough to go to Beijing. There’s nothing more to do than wait it out.”
