US names basketball coaches for Beijing games
The United States named two NBA coaches as assistant coaches of the US men’s basketball team for the 2008 Olympic Games in Colorado Spring on Monday.
The NBA coaches are Mike D’Antoni of Phoenix and Nate McMillan of Portland, Syracuse University coach Jim Boeheim was also named an assistant.

Olympic Mascots Revealed 1 reply
Beijing Olympic officials revealed the five mascots for the 2008 Beijing Olympic games at the ceremony to mark 1000 days to go.
The mascots are based on the following popular Chinese animals:
- the fish Beibei

- the panda Jingjing

- fire Huanhuan

- the tibetan antelope Yinying

- the swallow Nini

The reading of the first syllable of each of the nicknames translates into English, “Beijing Welcomes You”.

Sohu.com to host Beijing Olympic Site
Internet media company Sohu.com has agreed to provide hosting and web content for the 2008 Beijing Olympic games.
The sponsorship deal should give Sohu a great deal of international attention as they are one of the leading Internet companies currently in China.

Foreign companies are feeling locked out of the coming 2008 Beijing Games.
“The authorities are currently unable to ensure that the bidding process is fair,” the American Chamber of Commerce-China’s monthly magazine quoted Li Jianbo, a GE executive in charge of relations with the Chinese government, as saying.

Excitement of games taking time to build in Beijing
With car traffic and pollution problems it is taking time for excitement to build in Beijing.
It is less than three years to go before the opening on the games and the city is seeing one of the greatest construction efforts in years, causing a number of problems, mainly the disruption to the city’s traffic system.

Two Koreas to Field single team at Olympics
