I did a bit of walking today around Xian. It is Sunday so the streets were packed with people out shopping. Tomorrow is the lighting of the torch in Greece.

The ceremony is being heavily promoted on television and is the lead story on every news update. The lighting of the torch is in a way the real start to the Beijing Olympics. I am sure there will be hourly updates of the torch as it makes its journey around the world.
