Usain Bolt wins 200 meters - unsure about double in Beijing

Usain Bolt shows he is in top form for the Beijing Olympics by winning the 200 meters in 19.76 seconds at the London Grand Prix.

“I came out here with a plan and I did execute that well,” Bolt said. “My coach, no doubt, will tell me what I did wrong. I just came here to work on my 200 and I did just that today.”

Wallace Spearmon from the United States came in second and Paul Hession from Ireland was third.

Bolt is still undecided if he will run both the 100 and 200 at the Beijing Olympics.

“I’m still not sure about Beijing. I’m still waiting to see what’s going on,” Bolt said. “I’d definitely like to double. I think I could do well in both.”

In other results from the meet:

Russia’s Anna Chicherova won the high jump with Nicole Forrester from Canada coming second.

Shedrack Kibet Korir of Kenya won the men’s mile.

Kerron Clement of the United States won the men’s 400 meter hurdles “effortlessly”. Melanie Walker of Jamaica won the women’s 400 hurdles.
