No Michael Phelps’ medals today

Michael Phelps’ fans will have to be content with just watching him in the heats today.

Japan’s breaststroke champion, Kitajima Kosuke will go into the men’s 200m breaststroke final as favorite for the event, having already won gold in the 100m breaststroke. Mike Brown of Canada and Scott Spann of the United States are also medal chances.

The women’s 200 meter butterfly is on at 10:39 a.m. Jessicah Schipper of Australia is favorite to win gold.

At 10:46 this morning the men’s 100 meter freestyle final will be on. Eamon Sullivan from Australia and Alain Bernard from France will be favorites going into the event.

The United States and France will battle it out for gold in the women’s 4×200 meter freestyle relay.
