Michael Phelps wins 200 meter individual medley - WR time

Michael Phelps has won a gold medal in the 200 meter individual medley and setting a new world record of 1:54.23.

It is his sixth gold medal at the Beijing Olympics and 12th career total. He has just one more gold medal to win, to equal Mark Spitz’s record of most gold medals at a single Olympics.

Cseh Laszlo from Hungary won the silver medal and Ryan Lochte takes home the bronze. Only 1/100th of a second separated second and third places.
