Jessica Hardy withdraws from Olympic team

Jessica Hardy has withdrawn from the Beijing Olympics after testing positive for the stimulant clenbuterol at the U.S. swimming trials last month.

“As a result of Jessica Hardy’s withdrawal from the U.S. Olympic Team, USA Swimming will follow the published U.S. Olympic Team selection procedures,” said USA Swimming Executive Director Chuck Wielgus in a statement.

“According to the pre-approved procedures, swimmers from the existing roster will be placed in the open events. Rebecca Soni will swim the 100m breaststroke and Kara Lynn Joyce will swim the 50m freestyle.”

She of course claims she is innocent. Doping is bad, but the second crime is not admitting to what you have done as Marion Jones found out.
