France criticizes Speedo LZR Racer swimsuit

The French technical director of swimming Claude Fauquet has called for more debate on using the new Speedo LZR Racer swimsuits. France’s own Alain Bernard just broke a new record in the 100 meter freestyle.

“I think it deserves a real debate. It’s even worth being analysed by an ethical committee,” said Fauquet.

Nine world records has been broken since the introduction of the new Speedo LZR Racer - three of those by Australian swimmers.

Australia’s general manager of Speedo had this to say about the new swimsuits:

“People have to embrace innovation and technology otherwise we would all be sitting around watching people racing in Stirling Moss’s car or watching Roger Federer playing with Rod Laver’s racquet.”

More world records are set to broken leading up to and during the Beijing Olympics.

I’d rather be watching tennis being played with Rod Laver’s raquet.
That’s the reason I stopped watching tennis 20 years ago. The racquets got bigger, like the kind the old men and women used.
Why was this? To get an advantage over the other player.
