Beijing Olympic’s youngest competitor

With all of the talk about China’s women’s gymnasts, it led me to wonder how hold might the youngest athlete be at the Beijing Olympics. I found this article which profiles, Cameroonian freestyler Antoinette Guedia. Guedia is just 12 years and

She is competing in the women’s 50 meter freestyle and will be up against one the games older competitors, Dara Torres who is 41 years old.

“To be here at my age is amazing. I’m proud,” Guedia said at the athletes’ village, where the volleyball players and weightlifters strolling by dwarf her tiny, girlish frame.
